The National Vaccine Factory May be Built in Debrecen

A cooperation agreement has been signed between the Ministry of Human Capacities and the University of Debrecen to establish a national vaccine factory.

Cecília Müller, National Chief Medical Officer, made the announcement at the Operational Group press conference on Friday stating that that Minister Miklós Kásler and Zoltán Szilvássy, rector of the University of Debrecen, had signed the cooperation agreement to establish and implement a national vaccine factory.

“The government has recognized the importance of the independent vaccine production in 2018”, Cecília Müller said. The production will cover the production of the obligatory vaccines and optional vaccines. The main goal is to ensure a continuous, safe, and independent supply of vaccines.
