Bajcsy Invest Kft. signed an agreement with Accor Group to open a new Mercure hotel in Debrecen. The newly built hotel will offer 135 rooms and 20 apartments on four floors, as well as a restaurant, bar, café and fitness facilities. For business travelers, Mercure Debrecen will have conference and meeting rooms.
“Debrecen is not only a leisure and cultural destination, but also a business destination and an important economic center of the Eastern region. The project is therefore a key opportunity for us to expand our regional network,” Dilek Sezer, Accor’s Development Director for South Eastern Europe said.
Gyula Szűcs, President and CEO of Szinorg Universal Zrt., said to local newspaper that they chose Accor, which has an unrivaled brand offering in Europe, after careful consideration and after studying the proposals of several international hotel companies. Debrecen’s newest business hotel joins an international brand that offers a high-quality guest experience to travelers, he added.
The president pointed out that Debrecen has a shortage of high-quality hotels that meet the needs of both tourists and business travelers and the current investment is linked to the Debrecen 2030 program.
The Mercure Debrecen was designed by BORD Architect Studio.
