Beckhoff Hungary, a manufacturer and implementor of automation systems based on PC Control technology place great importance on vocational training, and therefore, like their parent company, they have strived to be present in the life of educational institutions from the beginning in Hungary.
Since last year Beckhoff has been working as an external department at the Faculty of Technology of the University of Debrecen. Thanks to its close collaboration with the institution, Beckhoff decided to set up a reference laboratory from its own resource, where students can acquire industrial automation knowledge on a relatively high level for two semesters, six hours per week. The company provides not only supplies the training tools, but also a member of staff who will be involved in future student education.
The Beckhoff Reference Laboratory was handed over in early November as part of a two-day event in the presence of the city administration.
“The lab allows innovative solutions to enter the training of the Faculty of Technology and is only the first step of a partnership with which our company would like to contribute to the development of the city,” said Tamás Perecz, Managing Director of Beckhoff Automation Kft.
Nearly 50 companies presented themselves at the two-day event in the Lobby of the Faculty of Technology. The Beckhoff booth featured a number of interesting activities and provided students with practical internships.
“Beckhoff would be an extremely useful partner for the University of Debrecen in the special field of automation. It will provide students with the knowledge, techniques, and opportunities that make them even more competitive. On behalf of the city, I warmly congratulate and I am delighted to see such collaborations”, said Mayor László Papp.
In addition to the Reference Laboratory, a research laboratory is underway, where students can undertake independent assignments, work in scientific student circles, and prepare their thesis or diploma.
