The German company Deufol is building a packaging and logistics plant in the South Industrial Park of Debrecen. The first phase of construction is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2020.
In a subsequent expansion, new halls will be built. This second phase is expected to begin in 2020 and end in the spring of 2021. Deufol will invest a total of EUR 20 million in the first two phases. By the beginning of 2020, 50 new jobs will be created in the city, and after the second phase, a further 120 people will be employed.
The foundation stone of the new plant was laid in the industrial area during early October.
Jürgen Hillent, Managing Director of Deufol, said that the construction of the new plant is an important step in building the most modern packaging technology hall in Europe where automated and visual packaging will be carried out and products for export will be packaged.
Debrecen will be the center of services for Southeast Europe, and the company trusts in the development of Debrecen’s economy, the expertise of Debrecen and its commitment to investors. In addition, Deufol trusts that Debrecen will maintain this commitment to Deufol in the long term.
