Deputy Mayor of Debrecen Diána Széles reported on her social channels that the Eastern Regional Meeting of the Association of Hotels and Restaurants discussed the past and future challenges of tourism.
“After the spring break and the good occupancy figures of the Easter period, we agreed that we should jointly exploit the opportunities of cultural and business tourism,” Deputy Mayor of Debrecen Diána Széles posted, adding that VisitDebrecen can play a big role in this.
“Coordinating the cultural events in our region is a joint effort to help accommodation providers,” she said.
According to reports from accommodation establishments, the deputy mayor stressed that business tourism is being boosted by the arrival of big investors such as BMW, which is already having an impact. That is why it is important to attract more job-creating investment to our city because it will help local restaurateurs and hotels that provide jobs for the people of Debrecen.
