The Debrecen Flower Carnival will take place between 15 and 21 August 2022.

Réka Mészáros, managing director of Főnix Rendezvényszervező Közhasznú Nonprofit Ltd., said that the carnival parade, taking place on the 20th of August, would start at 9 a.m.  At this time, dancers will accompany the breathtaking flower floats in the parade, dressed in lavish costumes from all over the world and Hungarian majorette groups on the Nagyerdei Boulevard (Nagyerdei körút).

Part of the week-long cavalcade of the Debrecen Flower Carnival is free of charge, but there are program elements that can be visited with tickets.

There will be comfortable seating in the grandstands and stands along the parade route, with an uninterrupted view of the dance and majorette groups, art performances, and flower floats. Tickets are on sale for the Schaeffler and Kölcsey Center stands on Rózsa Street.

An essential part of the festival is the display of plants and flowers.

Réka Mészáros said that the “Flowery City” project would be launched to make Debrecen bloom; public squares, sculptures, trams, and tram stops will be decorated with flowers, while attractive refreshment points will be created in busy areas.

The project aims to create a greener, urban oasis with cafés, restaurants, and shops in the city center. They welcome applications from cafés, restaurants, and shops in the city center to join in so that together they can offer a complete floral experience and an amazing, inviting atmosphere to visitors.

Information about the Debrecen Flower Carnival and tickets for the stands are available on the website.
