The International School of Debrecen is nominated for the Building of the Year Award

The International School of Debrecen has been nominated for the Building of the Year Award in the category of Education Buildings - ArchDaily's online architecture magazine.

ArchDaily, the online architecture magazine, awards the building of the year (BOTY) award each year. This year (2020) more than 4,000 projects in 15 categories have been nominated. Buildings that were first featured in the magazine between January 1 and December 31, the previous year (2019), were eligible to enter the competition.

The International School of Debrecen (ISD) was built on a 50,000 m2 area in Pallag, Debrecen, based on the winning concept of the BORD Architectural Studio. The school is one of many high profile projects of the BORD Architectural Studio, – they have designed many great buildings in the past few years that will change Debrecen forever.

The International School of Debrecen is a relatively novel approach to education in Hungary, based on a global pedagogical model, – the International Baccalaureate Program. Project-based learning provides children with the functional knowledge that they need for life and work and keeps them inspired and motivated. The design of BORD Architectural Studio reflects this way of thinking and also meets the requirements of 21st-century education in a smart and healthy environment. The BORD Architectural Studio designed a truly stunning building that is modern, safe and where nature becomes accessible for children and the pathways formed by recreating their connection to nature time after time.
