Mayor of Debrecen László Papp attended the 50th anniversary celebration of the Karácsony György Street Kindergarten.Thanks to its outstanding pedagogical programme, more and more children are enrolled yearly.
The children prepared a festive programme to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the kindergarten. The institution opened its doors 50 years ago and has looked after over a thousand children.
Mayor László Papp said the kindergarten has an outstanding pedagogical programme. He stressed that the institution is special in Debrecen because it was built in one of the city’s oldest residential areas. The institution underwent a major energy renovation in 2021.
“Since 2014, we have renovated 18 kindergartens, in whole or in part. We have improved conditions for children and kindergarten teachers,” he stressed.
To mark the anniversary, an exhibition was also opened at the Kindergarten on Karácsony György Street.
