The Debrecen Zoo is organizing a four-day bear program between the 2nd-5th of February as part of the Bear Festival.
On the opening day, visitors can find out if spring is far away, as Dönci, the ornery bear, predicts how long we will have to wait for spring, in keeping with the tradition of Candlemas Day.
Visitors will not only be able to learn about this traditional way of seasonal forecasting but also about the members of the bear family and their namesakes living in the institution through an interactive guided tour.
There will also be bear dancing, puppet shows, and a concert to entertain everyone. Visitors can take part in games of skill, family photo opportunities, a teddy bear pet fair and a map-finding game to make the day even more memorable.
All activities are free with a zoo pass – details on the zoo website.
