Last autumn, the University of Debrecen accredited the master’s degree in electrical engineering. Now the first five students are starting their practical training at Vitesco. The practical training results from an agreement signed between the University of Debrecen and Vitesco in October 2022.
Géza Husi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, said that the master’s degree in electrical engineering is a curiosity in its form, as before the course had even started, they had announced it and recruited the first students; Vitesco immediately stood by the course and set up a temporary department.
In addition to learning about the company culture, the students will be exposed to technologies and processes that are key to the automotive industry. This will give them the opportunity to gain significant practical experience during their university years.
József Nyéki, Head of the External Department and Production Director of Vitesco Technologies, said that some of their processes are used in the automotive and electronics industries, some are specifically high-tech, where Vitesco is a pioneer in the market, and students can learn practically about all of them.
In September and next February, another five students from the Faculty of Technology will join the practical training. According to the plans, twenty to twenty-five students will study in this way at the same time.
