In response to speculation from the strategic consulting firm Top Tier Consultants, that the Debrecen BMW plant would be delayed, BMW has issued a statement to Világgazdaság that as it had previously announced, it would begin construction in the spring of 2020, and that it has now started work on the pilings for the foundation.
A spokesman from Market Építő Zrt. Sándor Scheer, who are engaged with the development of the BMW site stated that “work in Debrecen is not being hindered by the current coronavirus epidemic” and that the area should be ready on time by the end of April.
As previously reported on DebrecenToday.com the construction should begin in the summer of 2020 with the development of 25,000 square metres facility.
