The new, digital info points are set up at many points in the city
In Karakter Coffee House behind the Great Church you can get publications about Debrecen in 7 languages. If you want to have something more modern, the new digital information boards are for you.
“We tirelessly work on sharing all the programs and tourist information with tourists. Tourists can get their hands on our Debrecen magazine published every two months at the airport, in hotels and restaurants. The publication is also available in the neighbouring cities” – said Mrs. Diána Széles, Deputy Mayor of Debrecen.
Since internet plays a vital role in sharing information, the local government decided to set up several digital information boards at the major tourists routes all across the city to meet the requirements of the growing tourist traffic.
At first, three full-resolution vandal-proof outdoor displays were installed in front of the Aranybika hotel at the Kossuth Square, by the Forum Shopping Center (Csapó street) and in the Fog Theatre (Great Forest).
The displays broadcast unique visual contents for 12-18 hours a day, and it is updated daily. The displays can be individually controlled from the Great Church to display different programs on each digital board.
“This new equipment helps tourists find information about the city programs and provide them with up-to-date information about what the city has to offer. It is especially useful in the festival season” – said Mr. Gábor Gődény, head of the division of VisitDebrecen.
Since the displays are interactive, they can be also used for streaming movies, animations and other visual contents about the city.
