On the evening of the 6th December, the Great Hall of the Kölcsey Center will be flooded with peaceful, soulful and truly unforgettable music.
For the first time, the Virginia Union Gospel Choir, and the world-famous Every Praise New York soloist is visiting Hungary. The Debrecen audience will be the first to experience this unique community experience.
The 30-person squad is made up of mostly young people, but five famous New York soloists sing along with them, including David Bratton, who has toured Debrecen for more than 52 weeks and leading the Billboard Gospel list with the ever-popular Every Praise. Currently, America’s No. 1 Gospel hit is being sung in over 60 countries in 120 languages!
The tour’s conductor is Perry Evans, who has demonstrated his unmatched talent in the American talent competition America’s Got Talent for several years until he reached the final.
Each time the choir is accompanied by a four-member live band. In their repertoire, they insist on their roots, African-American gospel music, and songs about truth, poverty, understanding, and of Jesus and the heart.
Choir leader David Bratton, who initially worked with ” Oh Happy Day ” composer Edwin Hawkins for years, has given concerts in honor of the Pope several times, including legends such as Anastasia, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Roberta Flack.
One of the most talented musicians of the period, Quennel Gaskin, a member of the Virginia Union Choir, is a world-renowned pianist, producer, singer and writer. The hit song ” Oh Happy Day ” has been re-orchestrated with great success, which the Hungarian audience will be able to enjoy – live! Due to his popularity, musicians and singers around the world listen to him and study his musical style.
In addition to evergreen gospel and Christmas songs, the concert will feature gospel hits such as ” Stand By Me “, ” Let It Be ” or ” I Love the Lord ” by Whitney Houston . These songs will all warm our hearts.
