Russian Music Festival in Debrecen
October 7, 2019 @ 8:00 am – October 12, 2019 @ 5:00 pm
For the second time, the Russian Cultural Center and the Kodály Philharmonic Debrecen will co-organize the Russian Music Festival in Debrecen.
You can enjoy the works by Tchaikovsky, Glinka, Mussorgsky, Prokofiev, Rimsky-Korsakov, and Skryabin. The events will be hosted in the Kölcsey Cultural Center, the University and the Reformed College.
The co-organizer of the festival, the ensembles of Kodály Philharmonic Debrecen will also perform two-tow concerts in both cities.
Monday (7th October), the musicians play Prokofiev’s music with Dániel Somogyi-Tóth at the Music Academy. The concert will be repeated on Tuesday in Debrecen.
On October 11, they will perform in the Reformed Great Church of Debrecen under the direction of Máté Szabó Sipos, and then the next day (12 October) at the Budapest Basilica.
Guest musicians from Russia were invited to perform further music. Glinka plays chamber music, but you can also hear the works of Rimsky-Korsakov or the piano pieces of Skrjabin. In addition to the music of Mussorgsky, who was born 180 years ago, we can also learn more about his life through his letters.
The event was published in collaboration with Visit Debrecen.
