“Local government gives composters to those in Debrecen who need it,” said Ákos Balázs, Viktor Papp and László Türk. Composters can also apply online or on paper.
In the spring of 2019, László Papp, the Mayor of Debrecen, announced a successful waste collection and recycling activity entitled “You pick it up! Or rather do not throw it away!” together with the program “Debrecen, our garden” to make our city more attractive, greener, and cleaner.
As a continuation of the promotion, composting bins for home gardens are now available free of charge to those who need it.
Composting is an environmentally friendly way of recycling green waste from the garden. We protect the environment with it, we can recycle green waste, and we also provide our garden with a natural source of nutrients.
If you are living in Debrecen and would like to get a composting bin, you should submit your request to the municipality in two forms: a register and submit our data via www.debrecenamikertunk.hu or b) in one person in the building of the local government.
The applications will be summarized on September 16th, and applicants will be notified in advance between September 18th and 26th. The 300-liter containers could be received at a pre-determined time and place.
Important dates:
a) 4-15 September: Submitting online applications or Paper-based Registration
b) 16-17 September: Receiving Granting Letter (defining time and location for the delivery)
c) 18-26 September: Delivery dates for garden composters
