The Street View application of Google has operated in Hungary since 2013 and has been updated several times since then.
Google Maps has around one billion users worldwide, and 25 million daily users. It is available in over 190 countries around the world. The Street View app is available in 88 countries. 95 million volunteers are helping update and improve data.
Google pays special attention to the protection of personal data when making street images. Prior to publishing the images, all recognizable faces and license plates are automatically blurred.
The photos are initially made with a trekker and then with a car. The trekker is a backpack-shaped device weighing more than 18 kilograms on which a camera system is installed. The 15 lenses on this page capture images every 2.5 seconds.
