How to apply to the German Primary School of Debrecen opening in September 2022

In September, the German Primary School of Debrecen will start offering tuition-free education.

The German Primary School of Debrecen will start classes in September, after the renovation of the former lower school building of the Vénkerti Primary School.

The education will be based on the German language, and it will be free of charge.

Mayor of Debrecen László Papp previously recalled that the International School of Debrecen opened in 2019, and the German Primary School of Debrecen (German: Deutsche Schule) was announced shortly after due to the large number of German companies settling in the town.

Hungarian pupils will learn literature and grammar in their mother tongue, while foreign children will also be able to learn Hungarian as a foreign language.

The children will receive a German certification as well after completing one class. The school will be run by the General Culture Center of Germans Living in Hungary (MNÁMK).

“In our school system, our students do not only get one certificate but two: one Hungarian and one German. In the last 20 years, we have awarded 770 German certificates in our training courses,” Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the General Culture Center of Germans Living in Hungary (MNÁMK) Miklós Egri said, pointing out that they founded the Mercedes Benz Schule in Kecskemét, the Audi Schule in Győr, the Robert Bosch Schule in Miskolc, and the next is the German Primary School of Debrecen.

According to the published application information, the application form must be sent to the maintainer by email by the 16th of March 2022.

Students admitted to the school will not have to pay tuition fees.
