Vaccination of the employees of the Municipality of Debrecen against COVID-19 is not obligatory

Based on the decree of the Government of Hungary, the Municipality of Debrecen does not make it compulsory for its employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Mayor of Debrecen László Papp consulted the heads of the institutions and the trade unions representing the interests of the workers before making a decision. According to the latter, almost three-quarters of the employees have received at least the second coronavirus vaccination.

However, vaccination of the employees of the Municipality of Debrecen is not obligatory, it is recommended to vaccinate as many employees as possible against COVID-19 to ensure the functioning of the institutions.

The current opening hours of the Mayor’s Office will not change. However, a temperature check will be compulsory for both clients and employees entering the building from the 3rd of November 2021. From the same date, clients entering the office will be advised to wear a mask and use a hand sanitizer. Mask-wearing will be compulsory for officials working with clients and recommended for officials not receiving clients.

Wearing a mask will be compulsory for staff working in residential social care institutions from the 3rd of November 2021.

A temporary ban on visiting the residential social institution on Pallagi Road No. 9  has been imposed from the 2nd of November 2021, and it is valid until revoked. The ban on visiting does not apply for farewell visits to terminally ill patients. It also does not apply to residents and visitors who have been vaccinated three times against COVID-19.

A vaccination certificate must be provided as proof of the first two vaccinations, while a medical certificate should prove the third vaccination. The use of FFP2 masks is preferably required on the premises; textile masks are not acceptable.

The Municipality of Debrecen requests that if citizens have any symptoms of COVID-19, not to go to the community.
