As of 2022, the government plans to support only the purchase and development of electric buses. According to the national bus strategy over the next ten years, 36 billion forints will be spent mainly on the purchase of electric buses, said Parliamentary Secretary for Innovation and Technology.
The government stated that it is a priority to solve the domestic public transportation mainly by using vehicles manufactured locally.
At the beginning of October, the foundation of the new bus manufacturing hall of ITK Holding Zrt. was laid down and a new school bus was presented. It was designed by Hungarian designers and implemented by Hungarian engineers.
