TheSpring Exhibition alternates every two years between showcasing paintings, then graphics and photography, while sculptures are welcome every year. In this way, this year’s exhibition will feature works by painters and sculptors. A professional jury has selected the works to be shown in the exhibition from the submissions received in response to the call for entries.
This year’s jury included Mihály Munkácsy Prize-winning artist and corresponding member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts József Baksai, Mihály Munkácsy Prize-winning painter, Hungarian Artist of Merit, Head of the Szolnok Artists’ Colony and President of the Day of Hungarian Painting György Verebes, Managing Director of MODEM Katalin Vizi, Art Historian and Cultural Advisor of the Mayor’s Office of Debrecen Lilla Szoboszlai, and Graphic Artist, President of the Ajtósi Dürer Association of Graphic Artists, Regional Secretary of the National Association of Hungarian Artists of Hajdú-Bihar County István Tamus.
After lengthy deliberation, the jury selected ten artists from the 51 entries to be awarded prizes. The winners will be announced at the opening ceremony on 20th May.
The 32nd Debrecen Spring Art Exhibition is open from 21st May to 20th June at the Bényi Gallery.
