In November 2019, Minister of Innovation and Technology László Palkovics and Member of Parliament Lajos Kósa announced the preparatory meeting with Spanish company Dorna Sports, the rights holder organizing MotoGP competitions. The tender for the procurement of various services and construction projects was then issued in 2020, and earlier this year, Hungaroring Sport Zrt. signed a strategic cooperation agreement with HUMDA Zrt. (the Hungarian Motorsport Development Agency) responsible for the implementation of the MotoGP race track in Hajdúnánás.
The decision was preceded by the announcement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó almost two weeks ago after a meeting of the Operational Group responsible for the resumption of economic life in Hungary.
Szijjártó also announced that a modern railway loading terminal would be established in Dunakeszi, while an industrial innovation development area would be established next to Göd.
According to the minister’s announcement, there are also plans to develop the transport infrastructure of Komárom, where a bypass road will be built and the railway line will be modernized.
The industrial park near Nyíregyháza will be further developed to allow for new investors as well.
