Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Jury Lajos Kósa, announced the winner of the Design Competition for the MotoGP track at a press conference held at the Aquaticum Hotel in Debrecen. Also in attendance was Member of Parliament István Tiba and the Mayor of Hajdúnánás.
The winning design was proposed by Péter Bordás whose studio has a prestigious list of successful project including Debrecen’s Nagyerdei Stadium, The International School of Debrecen and the recently opened Nagyerdei Strandfürdő to great acclaim, a vast waterpark in the cities Great Forest.
The 65 Billion HUF investment will include a Hotel and conference center besides the track. There will be a 12,000 person primary stand and 15,000+ person secondary stand, as well as a training center. The main building of the facility will be 10,000 square meters.
The 4.4 kilometers long race track is scheduled to be finished at sometime in 2023, when it will be first used in competitions.
