Mayor László Papp stressed that the crisis would cause serious damage to the economy of Debrecen, families could be in a difficult situation and people could temporarily lose their jobs.
The city leaders decided to set up a fund to provide further assistance to the citizens of Debrecen in need. HUF 20 million will be provided from the city budget to the fund. In addition, the mayor has offered his April salary as well.
