NGOs have until 5th May to apply for youth, civic, cultural and sporting themes. An information day will also be organised on 18th of April at DEMKI.
The 70-year-old Debrecen Hajdú Dance Ensemble has been given the headquarters of the ensemble, where they can prepare for performances, for example, with the help of the municipality. This help is important for the ensemble.
NGOs in Debrecen can apply for municipal support again this year. “We can see that not only we, but all civil society organisations in the city have the opportunity to apply and can turn to for help,” Tamás Majer, dance director, said.
The NGOs will not be left without support this year. The budget also provides funding for the civil, cultural, youth and sports causes. This will allow NGOs to receive money not only for events but also for operations.
The goals that NGOs are setting are very good, but they also need to be backed up by staff, operations and overhead costs, and these funds can provide this.
“We are always very curious about the applications because it is always a good filter to see what is happening in the city, who are the active communities, and what they are doing,” István Puskás, Deputy Mayor of Debrecen, said.
Applications can be submitted until 5th of May here.
