On the outskirts of the Hortobágy-puszta, 8 km from Hajdúszoboszló, on the outskirts of Nagyhegyes, we bought a half-hectare small farm with a ruined little cottage over 20 years ago.
We imagined a place where the charm of the countryside and the sheer beauty of our traditions and traditional Hungarian flavors, coupled with our heartfelt hospitality, will evoke the childhood memories of many in our non-intrusive, human-centered way, Hungarian folklore shows Hungarian traditions.
Guided by these goals, we have been building, developing, expanding ever since and today we welcome thousands of guests every year.
In the summer heat, the coolness of the adobe-walled buildings, the warmth of the furnaces in winter, and the simple, homely flavors of the food we cook, evoke the atmosphere of flourishing farmland.
The more than a hundred-year-old farmhouse and its model-built complex offer an opportunity to showcase the Tuba family’s memories, generations, traditions, and values. Today, as a living open-air museum, we fill it with important articles of family and contemporary folklife.
Not only does the environment and the tools of use evoke the past, but we also bring the typical Hungarian flavors to the table of the visiting guest. Traditional dishes are cooked in the oven, served with a flame of bread, a delicious duck leg, and stuffed cabbage.
The main building has a restaurant for 65 people, where besides the delicious meals, we offer unique experiences for everyone. During our 4-5-hour programs with dinner, the guests can get acquainted with the traditional costumes, customs, and dance, at which point, the pálinka barrel, and the whip appear, and the band makes it even more enjoyable.
