The School Scholarship Program of the International School of Debrecen is available until 31st October on the city’s website.

The purpose of the scholarship program is to provide opportunities for talented students of at least 10 years old who would not otherwise be able to afford to attend the International School of Debrecen.

The application form and its annexes should be submitted in one copy. You should address it to the Registrar of the City of Debrecen and send it to the Institutional Supervision Department of the Mayor’s Office of the City of Debrecen (4026 Debrecen, Kalvin tér 11.). You can also submit it in person. Please indicate on the envelope the “Scholarship Application of international School of Debrecen”.

The scholarship covers not only tuition fees but also other services such as school buses, meals, and domestic excursions.

Sneak peek into the life of the International School of Debrecen

János Öreg, director of the school, said in Közügy that they have 59 students between the ages of three and eleven, but that number may change as students continue to join during the year.

“In a school like this, we teach different age groups not just something else but also differently” he added.

The school has small class sizes, up to twenty students, they work in a tailor-made way There are always two teachers in elementary school classes, one an English-speaking senior teacher and a bilingual assistant teacher. The classrooms also have an unusual octagonal shape with many glass surfaces, floors, and carpets on their walls. There are a number of specific halls, such as music and fine arts.

The school’s educational program is the International Baccalaureate (IB), which was established in 1968 in Switzerland. There are currently six schools in Hungary where students can obtain an International Baccalaureate Diploma at the end of the education but there are no other schools in the country and there are very few in the region that teaches IB program for children aged from 3 to 18 years old.
