Mechwart András Vocational School has officially become a PASCH school. More than forty educational institutions have already joined the network of so-called PASCH schools in Hungary.
Sándor Szilágyi, Director General of the Vocational Training Centre in Debrecen, said that in addition to language teaching, their students would also learn special additional materials that will equip them with professional skills in German.
Mechwart András Vocational School can participate in a large international network, which means they can contact schools from Western Europe to Asian countries and set up student exchange programs, Heike Neyens, Head of the German Schools Abroad, pointed out.
Hungary has one of the largest numbers of DSD German language schools in relation to the population. Around 2,500 students will take the DSD this year, Kristen Ahlers, Cultural Counsellor at the German Embassy in Germany, said.
As part of the program, students can take language tests for free.
Deputy Mayor of Debrecen Lajos Barcsa said that for employers looking for workers in Debrecen, German language skills are an advantage. It will now be available free of charge at Mechwart András Vocational School, which will enable the future workforce to meet the expectations of employers, he stressed
The deputy mayor added that BMW is looking to take on almost 100 students as part of the dual training program, where German language skills will also be a focus.
