Wizz Air expects a significant increase in the number of passengers during 2019 at Debrecen Airport – said Mr. József Váradi, CEO of Wizz Air, at the press conference about the arrival of Wizz Air’s second airplane to Debrecen.

So far, one of their airplanes has been stationed constantly at the airport, however a second arrived on Friday, 14th December. According to Mr. Váradi, 353,000 passengers used their service in 2018, and they expect a significant increase in the number of passengers, once the second airplane starts operating. According to the CEO, the new airplane makes it possible to open new routes.

Wizz Air is planning to start four new flights from Debrecen. In the near future, routes to Dortmund in Germany, Sheffield Doncaster Airport, in Northern England, to Basel in Switzerland and to Barcelona, Spain will begin.

From spring 2019, you can also fly to Larnaca, Cyprus, Palma de Mallorca, Spain; and Valletta, the capital of Malta.
