Most of the current investment in Debrecen is concentrated in the Great Forest detailed below. In addition to this investment is the further expansion in Debrecen Airport, as well as the introduction of a Debrecen City Card.
One of the biggest touristic investments is the development of the new Debrecen Bath and Spa which will supply 5700 square meters of watery fun and relaxation with 16 different pools, 12 meters high living green wall and water curtain, as well as adventure pool, and 4 giant slides.
The Water Tower will construct an adrenaline rope course, while the Ötholdas Pagony Playground will also be transformed with four seasonal centers and a mini-city among the foliage of the trees.
The outdoor city bath will receive a cosy promenade with restaurants, opening in 2020.
The local government will launch a Debercen City Card that will enable for the inhabitants of Debrecen to get many discounts.

The development of Debrecen Airport is of strategic importance, while the airport has become the region’s busiest regional airport, currently with direct links to 14 cities. The airport will be further developed including a larger waiting room, extended passenger parking, and improved safe operation.
Developments in religious tourism in Debrecen are also significant. In the spring of 2020, the Greek-Catholic Tourism Visitor Center will be opened, while diverse developments were carried out in the Jewish Quarter.
