Launched this spring, the acceleration program of the Tungsram and Startup Campus will provide early-stage hardware startups in the region with a unique opportunity, to turn an innovative idea into a series-ready product.
Tungsram, a Hungarian-based company with a presence in more than 100 countries, provides engineering support and manufacturing capabilities to projects that can be accelerated to foreign markets through the company’s foreign relations.
The selected startups will receive a HUF20 million funding capital. Startup Campus will provide startups with business training and professional mentoring.
The main partners are Hiventures, part of the MFB Group, Deloitte Private, the Hungarian Export Development Agency (HEPA) and EDC Debrecen as the official smart city partner.
The program begins with business training and product development in April, followed by prototype production and testing. Startups can acquire business knowledge through a variety of workshops and individual mentoring. The acceleration ends with a Demo Day in October where participants can present their developments to the public. The best projects can receive an additional HUF 50 million capital after the program.
