The University of Debrecen has ranked 301-400 in the latest science rankings of Times Higher Education tied with Corvinus University of Budapest.
It was the first time that the University of Debrecen was ranked by the renowned British publication and ranking of Higher Education – “Times Higher Education” (TimesHE) – reported the university.
In 2020 THE World University Rankings by subject: social sciences, communications and media science, political science and international studies, sociology and geography are ranked by the British ranking organization.
The thematic rankings of TimesHE are based on the thirteen detailed, performance indicators used in the global rankings, but the methodology has been adapted to the specificities of each discipline.
In the social sciences, performance indicators are divided into five areas: education 32.4% (learning environment); research 32.6% (volume, income and reputation); 25% publication (research influence); internationality 7.5% (employees, students and researchers) and industrial income 2.5% (knowledge utilization).
Apart from the University of Debrecen, Corvinus University of Budapest (301-400), the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (401-500) and the Eötvös Loránd University (501-600) were added to the list.
Leading the rankings is the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University and Harvard University in the US, the University of Oxford in the UK. The full list is available on THE.
