Classic red and white wine, rosé and sparkling wine. After a three-year absence, the third wine festival entitled “‘Belvárosi Borünnep” will be held on Déri Square from the 2nd to the 4th of June. Wine lovers can enjoy almost 200 wines from 55 wineries, most of them from Hungary, accompanied by performances of well-known artists.

Three years ago, the last “Belvárosi Borünnep” wine festival was held in Debrecen. Then all the wine-growing regions of Hungary were represented. The organizers will welcome wine lovers to Déri Square in June with more wineries and a larger area.

“The area will be expanded, as we are preparing for more visitors than in previous years. Fifty-five wineries, mainly top Hungarian producers, will be present, with around 200 lots,” Bence Sipos Sipos, the main organizer, said. In addition to special wines, the event will offer gastronomic and musical experiences.

Deputy Mayor of Debrecen Diána Széles said that this program marks the start of the summer tourism season in the city. It is particularly important to organize events in the well-established downtown square and in a special square like the one in front of the Déri Museum, she said.

The three-day gastro-cultural event will feature jazz and modern swing bands in the evenings.

Detailed programs are available on the event website. The event is cash-free, and payment is possible by credit card or Festipay card.
