Wizz Air holiday flights to Santorini will start from Debrecen this week.
At the beginning of June, after a break of several months, Wizz Air reopened its base in Debrecen with a new flight to Santorini in Greece.
János Vajda, the managing director of Debrecen International Airport Kft., said that bookings for holiday flights are promising, so they expect a stronger season once again.
András Radó, the airline’s corporate communications manager, said Wizz Air’s precautionary measures introduced last May are still in place and so on planes, for example, everyone has to wear a mask. Thanks to the efficient aeration system and filters, the air in the cabin of the aircraft is changed twenty times an hour.
From 19th of June, those interested can fly again from Debrecen to Palma de Mallorca, the largest Spanish island, while the first plane will take off to Larnaca, Cyprus on 20th of June. Based on the vaccination agreement between Hungary and Cyprus, Cyprus accepts the Hungarian vaccination certificate for any vaccine approved in Hungary.
So far this year, a travel agency has signed a charter flight with the airport, which will transport passengers to Antalya, Turkey. The first plane will take off from the runway of Debrecen airport on 23rd of June. Wizz Air will probably fly to Tel Aviv again from Debrecen at the end of the summer.
